On June 21, Mr. Modi will attend the third International Yoga Day at the sprawling Ramabai Ambedkar ground here at Lucknow.
The session is scheduled to start at 6.30 a.m. and is expected to close just before 8 a.m. The participants, however, are expected to reach the site much before the scheduled start. The entry gate opens after 2 a.m.
The State police have beefed up security for the PM’s visit, with a large deployment of police force in and around the Ramabai ground. Around 400 CCTV cameras will also monitor the site. Around 55,000 people are expected to attend the PM’s yoga session in Lucknow.
Apart from this, yoga sessions will be held simultaneously at all district headquarters of the State, local bodies, schools, and public places like parks. LED screens will telecast live the PM’s event at public parks and places in the State capital.
In what was a a rehearsal for the event, yoga guru-cum-entrepreneur Baba Ramdev conducted a yoga session at the Raj Bhavan here recently. The event, organised by the Ayush department of the U.P. government, was attended by scores of official guests, including Mr. Adityanath and Mr. Naik.
This was “the first time” the Governor’s House in Lucknow hosted a yoga event, Mr. Adityanath acknowledged in his short address.
