It looks like the NDA Government miserably failed in giving employment to the youth. Modi the PM promised several things to the people under employment generation, but the statistics show that they have failed for which the labor Minister has also agreed .
On the other hand the BJP national president Amit Shah said that Union Labour minister Bandaru Dattatreya did not take into account details of job creation through tourism and aviation sectors while making comments on economic growth and employment.
Union Minister Dattatreya had in Mumbai conceded that the growth of the economy was not translating into more employment. Most of the time he is in Hyderabad and tries to attend each and every function. Attending the media meets is also his regular habit. In fact most of the BJP leaders including union Minister Venkaiah also likes to address the Press when ever he is in Hyderabad and Amaravathi.
Dattatreya had also said that a task force has been set up to compile figures of jobs generated in the last three years.
On the other hand”The investment made in various sectors, including through programmes like Make in India, is bringing in more funds and would create jobs,” Shah told reporters .
“In case of labour minister’s remarks, the data he had did not have details of job creation through tourism and aviation sector,” he added.
Shah also gave a reference of Mudra bank, which at national level has helped seven crore youth get different types of jobs.
“As many as 7.64 crore youth have got employment through Mudra bank. The loan amount that is disbursed by the bank varies from Rs 10,000 to Rs 10 lakh. These people turned from job seekers to job-generators,” he said.
It was said that nationalisation of banks then would help the poor but it never worked out.
On the other hand, the BJP-led government has extended loan to people without any guarantee through Mudra bank, Shah said.
He said it was true that the statistics department showed that employment generation figures appeared to be on lower side.
“But I have not received confirmed data from 23 ministries about job creation in their respective fields. I have therefore set up a task force to compile the figures and come up with actual employment generation,” he said.
The minister also said the current education system has too much emphasis on theory.
For instance, he said, in the engineering field 80 per cent curriculum is theory and 20 per cent is practical knowledge, while it should have been 75 per cent practical and 25 per cent theory.
“We need to have more practical approach towards educating the youth,” he added.
