Shaun Marsh’s a fine half century helped Australia get past Indian’s first innings total of 189 and now every run they get will put India under pressure. It has not been easy to bat on the Chinnaswamy wicket and whatever lead the Aussies get now will help them take control of the match. At the end of second day’s play they are 48 runs ahead with four wickets in hand.

Warner and Renshaw started the day confidently, and when the former looked dangerous got a beauty from Ashiwn to be clean bowled. Then the Australian captain, who scored a fantastic century in Pune got bogged down, not being able to play his natural game. And his wicket before lunch gave the hosts a chance of bowling the tourists out below two hundred.

But Shan Marsh and Renshaw batted patiently, hitting a odd boundary whenever they got loose balls. Renshaw got to his fifty after lunch, before being dismissed by Jadeja. Hanscomb played his natural game later, but mistimed a shot to be brilliantly caught by Ashwin at short midwicket. Then Mitchel Marsh joined his brother Shaun and did not last long getting out lbw to Ishant Sharma. After tea Shaan and Wade showed good patience, rotating the strike well. Their fifty plus partnership gave the tourists some hope of getting a seizable lead.

It is going to be tougher to bat on this pitch as the time progresses, with the spinners and pacers getting help. We have seen so many balls keeping low and some bounced ackwardly as well. If the Aussies can extend the lead to 100 tomorrow, Indians will be really under tremendous pressure.
Aussies still have four wickets in hand and the danger man Starc is not out with Wade.
