Both the movies are milestones for top heroes Balakrishna and Chiranjeevi. One at 150th and the other is 100th. It is prestigious for both of them and their fans. While Chiranjeevi is returning after 9 years gap with a flop career in politics, Balakrishna is fresh with 1000 days of Legend. That is the difference.
Both of them wanted to encash on Sankranthi and it has happened. While Khaidi 150 is alredy a proven story, Krish has taken a calculated risk with research and a fresh story and it is not a regular masala. It could be a flop also. At the same time Balakrishna has also taken equal amount of Risk for the 100th movie.
Even after changing the directors, chaning the leading ladies and the item ladies, Kahaidi could not match the hungama and fanfare that Balakrishna is getting today. In fact some movie analysts said that VV Vinayak tried to project the image of Chiranjeevi and ignored to elevate the story of Kaththi in the second half. Here in Sathakarni ,Krish has given importance to the story first and then to the hero next.
Ignoring Devi Sri Prasad and taking Chiranthan Bhatt for the music direction for Gautami was one of the daring and risky decisions. The music director lived upto the expectations by giving a good back ground. Chiranjeevi is a hit in the 150th but not the movie to the extent it was required. The songs in the 150th were not up to the expectations.
RGV the director tweeted that Balaiahs 100th movie will be remembered for another 150 times as the best movie with original story. The fact that Chiranjeevi was forced to depend on a beaten track and old story was a mistake. He should have chosen a story of his own for the 150th.
