Right from the inception Metro has been a controversial project in Hyderabad and it crossed several dead line, even the demo was done but the services are yet to begin.
The project changed hands, changed routes and took diversions, is still in progress. No proper date has been fixed for launching the services. Ever since the TRS Government took stock of the situation the work has been going on a faster pace but we do not know which route would be inaugurated in the first phase.
The first phase was slated for Ugadi in 2016, but some how it could not materialise. There was some controveresey about the sultan Bazaar and also the Assembly route, but the the L&T stuck to theirorogonal plan.
The whole idea was to reduce the traffic congestion. But the process of construction of the Metro ways have become major bottle necks for the traffic for last two years. Most of the roads were dug and the regular commuters in these routes are facing hell day in and day out.
Regular press briefings by the Company tell what is the progress . At the same time Minister for IT K Taraka Rama Rao is also monitoring the situation on regular basis. A committee headed by CS is also monitoring the progress of the works.
CM KCR was also interested in expanding the services for a better connectivity. His idea was to go for rail services from Hyderabad to all the districts. KTR has launched Uber- 2 wheeler services for further connectivity of the metro to the commuters in city.
Lets hope the Metro connectivity will be complete at the earliest.
