Husna breaks marathon carrom record

Everyone dreams of entering Guinness book of records in many fields. But only thos with sheer perseverance can achieve success in their attempt. And the dream came true for Shaik Husna Sameera at the Dhandamudi Rajagopal stadium, Vijayawada where she set a new world record in the marathon carrom, breaking the previous  one set by USA players Narayan Paranjape, AtulKharecha, PrakashKagal and PramodSen on 31 July 2005 at the Association office at Richardson Texas, USA. in 2005.

Playing with Allada Pavan, Husna a student of Shri Gayatri institutions has won India proud, playing not stop for 34 hours – forty five minutes and fifty six seconds. The previous record was set for 32 hours and 45 minutes. Her marathon effort which began at 8 am yesterday ended at 6. 45 today.

As per the Guinness World Records guidelines, they have played each session for 4 hours, taking the allotted break for 20 minutes under the supervision of the Qualified Carrom officials and Squardon leader Jaishmha, whos is also chief co -ordinator of Guinnes bools of records. It is yet another feather in Husna’s cap, who has been setting and breaking
her own records.

“I am in the seventh heaven today. I thank the carrom fraternity for their encouragement and cooperation. It is been a dream of mine to get into the guinnes books of records. And my parents, uncle have played a key role in my success. People would laugh at me when I started breaking records. But I have always taken everything positively. I practised very hard for this mega event” said Husna with excitement.

Husna also thanked Allada Pavan, who played with her on the way to achieving this rare record.
