The Telangana Rashtra Samithi is not eager to enter into the BJP-led coalition of National Democratic Alliance at the Centre, and the recent bonhomie between the Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao and the Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the Gajwel meeting should not be construed as anything more than cordial Centre-State relations, Deputy Chief Minister Mahmood Ali clarified here.

Responding to a question by the media Mahmood Ali said the Centre-State relations are akin to the relationship between elder and younger siblings, and for effective implementation of various schemes, it is important that the relations are good. Though not expecting Central funding, the State Government needs many clearances for the projects here, hence friendly relations are needed, he explained.

Talking about the promise of free education, Mr.Mahmood Ali said, “ the State Government is implementing projects such as Mission Bhagiratha and Mission Kakatiya which are investment-heavy. Once the projects are completed, it will launch schemes for free education and free healthcare.”
