People want to know ,how the Bollywood beauty Shilpa would be maintaining her slim body. When it comes to Yoga ,people think about Shilpa and the Yoga Guru Baba Ramdev.
Shilpa says she has everything. I have a four year old child so everything from white butter, cheese, lactose free cheese because my husband needs lactose free; some fruits, chocolates for some people. No aerated drinks.
Talking about the work outs and exercise, Shilpa reveals -I don’t. I don’t get the time. I can’t lie about my schedule. I’ve come to Delhi for exactly four hours. So I’m on a flight one day, I’m in the middle of a shoot the other day. Despite not doing a film, I still have my hands full because I’m a full time mother. I never switch off. But I still manage.
I feel social media kind of gives me the opportunity and a window to interact with the world because I’m really not; I’m kind of a recluse. Yes I do attend parties and go to places because being in this milieu for 23 years you make a lot of friends. People have been a part of your journey so you have to be there for them. But otherwise that’s my only window to interact.
These are people who tell you what they think of you, what they think you should be doing and I’m open to criticism. I’ve never been trolled luckily. So I take that in my stride. It’s a learning curve. Social media has been great that way.
About her day to day schedule Shilpa explains – My morning started 6 AM cause my son started school. It’s a mad rush till 7:15 till he’s out of the door. Then when I get time and if I don’t have a commitment I work out. I do some yoga, some strength training for 45mins. 10mins goes into breathing in my garden.
And then I have my breakfast. Then I get down to all the meeting which I’ve kept in the office or at home. Then I rush to pick my son up. Then its dinner time with the family by 7-7:30 when my son eats with us and that’s it. Lights are out by 11.
On her food habits Shilpa says -Now you’ve said that I can’t refer to my book- The Great Indian Diet but I’ll try to plug it in. Go to my Instagram I really post stuff that I do. And I can’t and there’s no better way to convince you guys.
So I eat a very healthy breakfast. Right now I’m into eating a lot of raw breakfast foods, so I add apples and a bit of yoghurt and cherries and whatever is in season like three or fruits and mix it up and blend it in some almond milk and muesli or granola. And that’s my healthy breakfast.
And then you know some days I just have two eggs in the day I mean for breakfast and I have my tea, which is my vice, with sugar. So it’s terrible. Then there’s obviously moong chillas. Our dinner is very very light. My heaviest meal is my afternoon, my lunch.
Finally talking about the Yoga she says -I actually started doing yoga because it was recommended for my neck. So I started out in a very small way, and then when I learnt to do Ashtanga Yoga, I learnt from Shiv Kumar Mishra. He was my teacher for Karvalya Dham way of doing Yoga.
