Tirumala, the abode of Universal Supremo of Kaliyuga, Sri Venkateswara Swamy, always abuzz with the pilgrim activities and religious festivities.
Every day is a festival in Tirumala and is rightly described as “Nitya Kalyanam – Pachatoranam”.
There are only 365 days in a year but more than 450 festivals are being observed round the year in Tirumala which is no exaggeration.
These festivals are categorised into Nityotsavams(daily), Pakshotsavams(fortnightly), Masotsavams(monthly),Samvatsarotsavams(yearly), Nakshatrotsavams(based on birth stars).
Daily festivities includes Suprabhatam, Tomala, Sahasranamarchana,weekly festivals like Ashtadala Padapadmaradhana, Pulangi, Shukravara Abhishekam, star festivals like Rohini, Arudra, Punarvasu, Shravanam will be observed.
Besides, the Jayantis like Matsya, Kurma, Varaha, Nrisimha, Vamana,Parasurama, Rama, Balarama, Krishna, Kalki-the Dasavataras are also celebrated along with Tiru Nakshatrotsavams of great saints who dedicated their lives in the service of Sri Venkateswara.
