This small film with a budget of around 50 crore is inching towardsthe 500 crore mark. This is possible due to the extraordinary content.
The first part also has done well and the now the second part is shaking the box office. ‘Stree 2’ entered its third weekend on Friday,August 30, and recorded its lowest single-day business so far.
The horror-comedy collected Rs 7.75 crore on its third Friday, taking the overall collection of 16 days to Rs 440.80 crore, reported the trade website Sacnilk.
The film is now looking at finishing its third weekend with its entry into the coveted Rs 500 crore club at the domestic box office.
Directed by Amar Kaushik, it earned Rs 291.65 crore in its first week, and Rs 141.4 crore in the second. ‘Stree 2’ recorded the biggest second-week collection for a Bollywood film and surpassed the likes of ‘Gadar 2’, ‘Jawan’ and ‘Pathaan’, among other Hindi films.
Mixing comedy with horror is not that easy. Sustaining for two hours was the USP of this director.
All other films with big names could not do well in front of this Stree-2. Lets hope the TFI will take a leaf from this movie and give some good movies with a message for the future.
