It is the right time for the TTD to take stock of the ornaments belonging to the Lord Venkateshwara. There were allegations that lot of jewellery was stolen and sold abroad. This has been going on since the times of YS Rajasekhar Reddy. Bhumna Karunkar was the TTD Chief during YSRs regime.
Then there was talk about the Pink Diamond. So far there is no news on this account. The TTD Chief Syamala Rao should clarify on this at the earliest. They must have proper records on the status of the ornaments of the TTD.
The TTD must clarify the said Pink Diamond.
There is every need for verification of all the ornaments of Lord Venkateswara of Tirumala temple including the jewellery donated by devotees, to clear the doubts of devotees on the status of the ornaments and to ensure that all the ornaments are in safe custody.
The BJP leader pointed out that many pilgrims expressed doubts on the safety of the jewellery and wanted verification. He urged the government to take up the verification by the sitting High Court judge to ascertain that all the ornaments are intact in the temple’s strong room.
Apart from there must be transparency on the amount spend by the TTD and the income that it gets on a monthly basis.
