The ECI has deleted around five lakh voters in 15 constituencies of Hyderabad it is reported. This was done after receiving complaints from various sources.
This will first affect the prospects of the AIMIM candidate Asaduddin Owaisi. As claimed by Feroze Khan the Nampally Congress candidate, Owaisis have been winning with bogus votes.
Owaisi has been winning with the majority of lakhs of votes. With lakhs of votes being removed it would become some what difficult for the Owaisi from Hyderabad this time.
He has won for 4 times as an MP and his father was the MP before that.
This cleanup process, carried out in accordance with ECI directives, involved meticulous adherence to procedural requirements. Additionally, efforts were made to rectify discrepancies such as “non-standard” house numbers on the electoral roll, with corrections applied to 1,81,405 voter records in Hyderabad district.
Another vital initiative aimed to consolidate split voters within families into single polling stations, resulting in 3,78,713 corrections to facilitate voter participation.
