The Bharat Rashtra Samithi leader K Kavitha has moved an application in the Rouse Avenue court for direction to the Tihar Jail Administrator to allow her to have home-cooked food and mattresses comply with the order dated March 26, 2024, passed by the court.
The applicant also seeks direction to Tihar authorities to provide slippers, bedsheets, books, blankets, pens, sheets of paper, jewellery, medicine, etc. during judicial custody.
However, in complete defiance of the order dated March 26, 2024, none of the articles as directed by the Court were provided or allowed to be carried by the applicant.
The applicant has not even been allowed to carry spectacles and japa mala to the jail, plea stated.
The ED had mentioned that in its investigation it has been revealed that K Kavitha, along with others, conspired with the top leaders of AAP, including Arvind Kejriwal and Manish Sisodia, to get favours in the Delhi Excise policy-formulation and implementation. In exchange of these favours, she was involved in paying ₹ 100 Crore to the leaders of AAP.
