The ED has sought 10 days of custody of Delhi CM Kejriwal in the liquor case. ASG SV Raju was arguing the case for the ED. Abhishek manu Singhvi argued for Kejriwal.

ED has called Kejriwal the Kingpin in the formulation of the liquor policy and also the key conspirator in the liquor gate. Kejriwal favoured the South Group the ED stated.

The kickbacks of 300 crore were used for the election campaign they said. 45 crore was used for the Goa election campaign.

But the copies filed in the written statement say that it was 100 crore paid to Kejriwal. Raju argued that CM Kejriwal was not cooperative in the investigation.

ED said that Vijay Nair the media in charge was the middleman for Kejri and South Group. He was using the quarters of a minister which was close to CMs bungalow.

This is the biggest arrest of that the ED made in this liquor gate by taking CM Kejriwal into custody. A massive showdown was seen in the form of a protest by huge crows for AAP at Mohali.

The Government has lost Rs2200 crore because of the alteration of the liquor policy by the CM.

Singhvi argued that there was no need to arrest Kejriwal at all. He stated that the PMLA was a draconian law.

MLC Kavitha was told to approach the trial court for relief, including bail. A bench of Justice Sanjiv Khanna, Justice MM Sundresh, and Justice Bela Trivedi refused to take up the petition.

The court said it could not allow individuals to approach it directly – without going through the lower courts – simply because they were persons of influence, such as a senior political leader or a Chief Minister.
