Chief Minister Sri A Revanth Reddy announced the establishment of a second phase Hyderabad Genome Valley soon. The Chief Minister inaugurated the Healthcare and Life Sciences Bio Asia 2024 conference at Hitex . The CM congratulated Nobel Laureate Professor Greg L. Semenza for being selected to the Genome Valley Excellence 2024 Award this year. The CM accompanied by Industries and IT Minister D Sridhar Babu presented the award to Semenza.
CM Revanth Reddy said “Genome Valley will be established in three hundred acres with an investment of Rs.2000 crores. The process of setting up ten pharma villages with an investment of Rs one lakh crores has already begun .
This will open up enormous opportunities for aspiring entrepreneurs. The new facility will provide 5 lakh jobs. The pharma villages will be established in greenfield pharma sectors in Vikarabad, Medak and Nalgonda districts. The greenfield facility is also very convenient for all the entrepreneurs of the world as it is located very close to Hyderabad International Airport” he said.
The Chief Minister said that the BioAsia conference which was being held in Hyderabad has become crucial amid raising the health concerns around the world after the Covid pandemic. The CM said that Hyderabad as the capital of bioscience created a confidence in all mankind today. Today, one of every three vaccines used in the world is being produced in Hyderabad itself.
