State Cyber Security Bureau organized a joint stakeholder meeting of various ecosystem service providers today at the Telangana ICCC. The meeting was chaired by the Director, TSCSB, Smt. Shikha Goel, IPS and attended by representatives from major Telecom Service Provides such as Airtel, Jio, VI, BSNL etc., and the major Internet Service Providers such as Atria Telecommunications, Airtel, Jio Fiber etc.
Senior officers from Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) and the Department of Telecom also attended the meeting.
The joint stakeholder meeting was held to streamline interagency corporation in fighting cybercrime in the State of Telangana. The Director, TSCSB spoke about the various efforts taken by TSCSB to fight Cyber Crime in the state.
She also requested the ecosystem players to ensure timely and prompt response to various information requests and action requests initiated by the Telangana State Police in its quest to curb the menace.
The TSPs were also asked to present the status of the implementation of the new SIM Card rules that became effective from the 1st of December 2023.
These rules included KYC of SIM Resellers and imposed various penalties and fines among other steps. The TSPs were also asked to explore implementing AI in fraud identification and illegal use of sim cards in cybercrime.
Awareness being among the key responsibilities of all stakeholders, the Director asked for increased cooperation with police in the creation awareness campaign.
