Preparations are in full swing in Ayodhya, for the grand inauguration of Ram temple. The ‘Pran Pratistha’ ceremony is scheduled for January 22, and several from the field of politics, sports, and art will take part in the ceremony.
Telangana BJP demands for a holiday on 22nd while the Ayodhya temple town wore a festive look with special rituals were organised in temples across the city, including Dashrath Mahal.
Around 7000 listed guests would come for the ceremony. 100 chartered flights would land in the New Ayodhya International Airport.
“We have waited for 500 years for this day. Finally, Ram Lalla will be enthroned at sanctum-sanctorum of Ram Temple,” said Satyendra Das, head priest of Ram Janmabhoomi.
“I am fortunate to witness this historic day. My ancestors must be happy wherever they are,” said Naraynamma 76, who came to visit Lata Chowk, which was decorated with flowers and lights.
Rituals began with Prayaschita Karmakutipujan atoning for one’s sins and Karmakuti poojan a set of rituals performed at a place where the deity is housed at around 1 pm and will end on January 22 with Prime Minister Narendra Modi performing the consecration rituals.
The first full look of Ram Lalla was revealed three days ahead of the much-awaited ‘Pran Pratishtha’ ceremony. The pictures, which were released by the Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP), showed Ram Lalla’s 5’1″-high idol made of black stone .
Under the Ayodhya Master Plan , projects worth `85,000 crore will be executed to upgrade the town’s infrastructure. The government has already unveiled a new international airport and a revamped railway junction as well. During a recent visit to the town, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said, “Infrastructure-related works will once again establish modern Ayodhya with pride on the map of the country.”
The Congress and other leaders who are not coming for the consecration on 22nd are just politicising the event and nothing more than that the Deputy CM of UP Keshav Prasad said. It is a big insult to Lord Rama he said.
