TTD aimed at providing affordable accommodation to devotees coming from across the country by constructing more rest houses.
TTD Chairman Sri Bhumana Karunakara Reddy laid the foundation stone for l Achyutam and Sripatham rest houses in place of old Choultries ( Sri Govindarajaswami-2 and Sri Kodandaramaswami – 3 ).
TTD board chief said with the objective of common devotees’ comforts in Srivari Darshan, Anna Prasadam and accommodation TTD launched projects to modernise aged choultries
The 70-year-old second Choultry of Sri Govindarajaswami at ₹208 crore and 3rd Choultry of Sri Kodandarama Swamy at ₹ 209 crores to accommodate 8200 devotees (4100 each) and parking for over 200 cars etc.
Each block will have eight floors building totalling 7.04 lakh SFT area with reception, SSD counters, toilets for men and women, two restaurants, five halls for Srivari Sevakulu and store room on the first floor.
Second and Third floors will have Anna Prasadam halls and 23 dormitories for 500 devotees each and general toilets. On the fourth floor to eighth floor 8 family suits,100 rooms totalling 540 rooms to be completed within three years.
Tirupati Mayor Dr Shirisha, Dy Mayor Sri Abhinay Reddy, JEOs Smt Sada Bhargavi, Sri Veerabrahmam, CVSO Sri Narasimha Kishore, CE Sri Nageswara Rao, SE electrical Sri Venkateswarlu, EE Sri Venugopal and others were present.
