Former Chief Minister and Telugu Desam chief N Chandrababu Naidu was arrested by the AP Criminal Investigation Department (CID), in connection with a corruption case.
Chandrababu Naidu was shifted to Nandyal Hospital for a medical examination, following which he will be produced before the court and later will be shifted to Vijayawada.
Recently, Chandrababu Naidu had claimed that he would be arrested very soon and his fear turned true with the arrest. Chandrababu Naidu during the early hours of Saturday in connection with the Rs 371 crore skill development scam.
The arrest took place at the RK function hall in Nandyal where Chandrababu Naidu was staying during his visit to Nandyal.
The police took Chandrababu Naidu into custody amid dramatic scenes with the TDP cadre objecting to the arrest of their leader.
Babu said the police created havoc before arresting him. He said that the government killed democracy.
Babu claimed that his name was not mentioned in the FIR but the police did not give proper information. He demanded police to prove his guilt before arresting him.
