Interacting with the officers, DGP Anjani Kumar said the department was able to keep the UI pendency cases within permissible limits for the 16th month in a row and it’s a great satisfaction.
Ramagundam Commissionerate disposed off the highest number of UI cases followed by Sanga Reddy, Jagtial, Siddipet and Peddapalli. Rachakonda Commissionerate has been showing significant progress in conviction rate in grave cases. Similarly, the crime against women cases registered a reduction of 46.34 per cent.
With respect to DCP zone wise analysis, the DCP Peddapalli emerged as best in reduction of cases followed by Warangal, Yadadri, Balanagar and Maheswaram. With regard to rise in cases without cybercrimes, DCP West Zone Hyderabad registered rise by 97 cases, DCP Madhapur registered 166 cases rise, Central Zone Hyderabad registered 89 cases rise, LB Nagar DCP registered 87 cases rise, South-East Zone Hyderabad registered 43 cases rise. The DCP concerned must do analysis as to what kind of crimes has occurred.
About reduction of grave cases, the Cyberabad reduced 19 cases while Jagtial 17 cases, Ramagundam 14 cases, Rachakonda 12 cases and Siddpet 10 cases. With respect to very old cases, a charge-sheeted and CC number was obtained in 2005 case of Nagarkurnool.
The case related to 498A of 2012 and SC, ST case of 2013 in Uppal PS along with another case of 2015 in Bhadradri-Kothagudem PS was charge-sheeted. The Director-General of Police complimented the Investigating Officers (IOs) for their outstanding work.
Of the total 21 verticals, Rachakonda tops in 11 verticals, Cyberabad tops in 10 and Hyderabad tops in one while in cluster I, Karimnagar tops in five, Khammam and Ramagundam each tops in four in cluster II and in cluster III Suryapet tops in 9 and Kamareddy in 6. Nirmal tops in 6, Adilabad in 4 and Nagarkurnool in 3 in cluster IV of north Telangana.
Complimenting the Ramagundam unit for their outstanding work in disposing of the highest number of cases, the Director-General of Police reminded all the officers that over a period of time the department has been fine tuning the analysis mechanism.
He said rewards would be given to the officers for their outstanding performance in clearing the pendency.
The Director General of Police said the nature of crime happening in the society was changing and it changes every time in every one decade. “Traditional crime of organized dacoities and robberies are coming down. We hardly hear such crimes especially on the outskirts of Hyderabad which earlier used to witness dacoities in isolated houses and other areas. All these crimes have come down,” he said.
At the same time, the emergence of cyber crimes is alarming. Everywhere, cybercrimes will go up because cyber literacy and usage is going up. India is a number one country in the world as far as data usage of smartphone is concerned.
As the Government of Telangana has given much importance to Telangana State Anti-Narcotics Bureau and Telangana State Cyber Security Bureau, it is the responsibility of all the officers to see that it functions very effectively.
All the unit officers should take the responsibility to establish special teams update skills and undergo training at Telangana State Cyber Security Bureau. He asked the officers to create sensitivity towards these crimes. The officers must know the details of victims whether they are women, elderly persons or youngsters then only the department could have plans and strategic tools to go for preventive measures.
