During the time of the united state of Andhra Pradesh, there were only 134
dormitories with meagre facilities in the Telangana region. After the bifurcation of
the state, the Telangana government set up another 93 boys' hostels and 173
girls' hostels. In addition to these, another 30 dormitories have been set up for

women studying for degrees. With this, after the formation of Telangana state,
the number of these reached 268.

Quality accommodation and dining facilities with special funds:-
The Telangana government has provided quality food facilities to the
students, realizing that health and physical well-being are also important for the
students. In all the hostels, the meal menu includes nutritious food along with
low-fat rice. For that, the government is providing them with the necessary funds.
In the year 2014-2015, Rs.394.93 crores were sanctioned to the society and for
the year 2015-2016 Rs. 501.87 crore increased to Rs. Thus every year from the
formation of Telangana to the year 2023-2024, Rs. 6684.3 crore has been spent.

Recruitment of best teachers:-
The government has paid attention to the appointment of the best
teachers. Government identified 2782 vacancies across the state and filled 2337
posts through TSPSC. TREI-RB has filled 1054 posts out of 1162 vacancies.
Arrangements are being made to fill up 2538 posts.

Achievements:-
This society is working for the welfare of scheduled caste students and is
achieving great success. Students have shown their potential in all the
examinations conducted in the academic year 2022-2023. The pass percentage in
class X examinations was 86.60 in other educational institutions while the pass
percentage of society students was 95.50. In the senior inter examinations, the
pass percentage of other educational institutions was 67.26 per cent while the
students of the society achieved 89.04 per cent. The pass percentage of the
students here is 74.81 if the junior inter 62.85 across the state.

Telangana Social Welfare Residential Educational Institution Society is
moving ahead with great achievements. The students who have studied here are
progressing by achieving success in sports competitions. Students here have
achieved a total of 753 schemes in state, national and international sports
competitions. A student named Ashok is working as a flying officer in the National
Defence Academy. Many students have got employment opportunities in private
and government sectors as well.

Ambedkar Buildings and Statues :-
After the formation of the state in 2014, by March 2023, 910 SC community
halls have been constructed in Telangana at a cost of 140 crores. By approving the
construction of Bhavans and statues, the state government has allocated Rs.
368.27 crore has been sanctioned. 96 of these works have already been
completed. Another 319 works undertaken with 40 crores are in various stages.
From 2014-15 to 2022-23, the government Rs. 140.55 crore has been spent.
125 feet statue of Ambedkar, the largest in the country:-
In addition to spreading Ambedkar's aspirations to the world, Telangana
state government erected the world's largest 125 feet tall 'Ambedkar statue' in
the spirit of Chief Minister KCR's ideas with the aim of motivating people's
representatives and authorities to achieve those aspirations. Hon’ble Chief
Minister Kalvakuntla Chandrasekhar Rao announced and laid the foundation
stone in the 125th Ambedkar Jayanti program organized on 14th April 2016 to
establish a memorial named after Ambedkar. After the completion of the
construction, on 14th April 2023, Chief Minister unveiled the 125 feet statue of
Dr. BR Ambedkar along with Ambedkar's grandson and former Lok Sabha member
Prakash Ambedkar. The project has been built on a total area of 11.6 acres in the
vicinity of NTR Gardens on Necklace Road. The precinct where the Maha Vigraha
is located is up to six acres. The statue of Ambedkar was designed by Sthapathi
Ram Ji Sutar of Gonduru village in Dhule district of Maharashtra. The government
spent Rs. 146.50 crore for this event.

Ambedkar Name for Telangana Secretariat :-
CM KCR felt that Telangana State, which has been a model for the country
in the past, moving forward with vision in all fields, will be an inspiration to the
country in governance by naming the state secretariat after Ambedkar Mahasaya.
On June 27, 2019, Chief Minister KCR Bhoomipuja laid the foundation stone for
the construction of the new building. The famous architects Dr. Sir and Ponni
Concessao acted as designers for the construction of the secretariat. The new
secretariat is based on the current model approved by CM KCR. The new
Secretariat was constructed by Shahpur Ji Pallonji and Company Pvt. Ltd. After the
work started, the construction was completed in a record time of 26 months. CM
KCR has named the new Secretariat, which has been constructed on 2.5 acres of a
total area of 28 acres, as "Dr. BR Ambedkar Telangana State Secretariat". On April
30, 2023, the Chief Minister of Telangana State, Kalvakuntla Chandrasekhar Rao,
inaugurated the new Secretariat with grandeur in the Simha Lagna Muhurtham.
The new secretariat is the platform for the progress of the state. This building is
built to boost self-confidence in every Telangana person. The new Secretariat
provides confidence that we can face any difficult problem that may arise in the
present and in the future.
