Under the visionary leadership of Honble Chief Minister Sri K. Chandrashekar Rao Garu, TS Power utilities have met highest peak demand of 15,497 Megawatts on 30.03.2023 (surpassing the United AP peak demand of 13,162 Megawatts on 23.03.2014). And TS Power Utilities are fully geared-up to meet the load up to 17,000 MW in near future. Telangana SLDC with advanced technologies, is in forefront in maintaining grid discipline and has been adjudged among the top three SLDCs in the country in scrupulous implementation of Indian Electricity Grid Code (IEGC).
After formation of Telangana state, an amount of Rs.40,017 Crores has been invested in strengthening of Transmission and Distribution network in state. For the first time in the history, 24 hours power is being supplied to 27.7 lakh agriculture pump sets from 01.01.2018 onwards in Telangana state to end the despair of farmers. The contracted capacity has been increased from 7,778 MW as on 02.06.2014 to 18,756 MW as on today (with increase of 10,978 MW).
Disclosing above details, after hoisting national flag on the occasion of 77th Independence Day, Sri D. Prabhakar Rao, CMD/TSGENCO & TSTRANSCO at Vidyut Soudha, said that with the availability of quality and reliable power on 24×7 basis, efficient and transparent policies, Telangana state has become the top destination for investments in the country and appealed to all employees to rededicate for the betterment of power sector.
In an endeavour to make the state power surplus, TSGENCO has taken up 4000MW (5X800MW) Supercritical Yadadri Thermal Power Station, which is first in the state sector in the country. It has been taken up with investment of Rs.34,400 Crs.
The Per-capita Electricity Consumption of Telangana, which is an index of development of a state, was 1196 in 2014 and has increased to 2140 units at present. The present Per-capita Electricity Consumption of Telangana is 70% more than National Per Capita Electricity Consumption of 1255 Units.
