The Green India Challenge, spearheaded by founder and MP Joginipalli Santosh Kumar, witnessed a remarkable event today at Kondagattu forest area. As part of the sixth phase of the Green India Challenge, the theme “Fight against plastic pollution and control its use” took center stage. Notable personalities, including honorable ministers, esteemed public representatives, and respected officials, graced the occasion.
In a commendable display of collective effort, more than 1000 students from JNTU, along with MP Santosh Kumar, actively participated in this event and planted 1000 tree saplings. Their dedication and commitment toward environmental preservation have further strengthened the cause.
The presence of such esteemed individuals underscores the collective commitment to promoting a greener environment and combating the adverse effects of plastic pollution.
MP Santosh Kumar expressed his gratitude towards Chief Minister Sri K Chandrashekhar Rao for his vision and support in reconstructing the renowned Lord Anjaneya Swamy temple within the lush surroundings of Kondagattu forest area. This initiative aims to position the spiritual spot as one of the country’s premier centers of spirituality while nurturing its natural beauty.
To fulfill Chief Minister CM KCR’s vision, Santosh Kumar had previously announced that the forest area adjoining the temple would be adopted and developed under the Green India Challenge. With an allocation of Rs 1.04 crore from MP funds, Santosh Kumar sanctioned various initiatives, including the construction of a protective fence, walking track, watchtower, gazebos, and the restoration of the forest area surrounding the temple premises.
Minister Indrakaran Reddy, praising Santosh Kumar’s dedication, emphasized the significance of the Green India Challenge as a role model for the entire country. The minister commended Santosh Kumar’s efforts in raising awareness about environmental issues and promoting widespread sapling plantation initiatives.
The event witnessed enthusiastic participation and support from ministers, MLAs, local public representatives, and officials, who extended their congratulations to MP Santosh Kumar for his instrumental role in adopting the forest and driving the development works at the Anjaneya Swamy temple in his native district of Jagtial.
