The welfare of police

The first G.O. issued by the Telangana Government was sanctioning an amount of Rs.375.00 Crores for purchase of modern vehicles, weapons and other infrastructure facilities in the Police Department. Later on, another G.O. was also issued sanctioning Rs.500.00 Crores additionally for this purpose.

During the first year of formation of Telangana State itself, the Chief Minister took steps to construct a prestigious 20 – floor “Twin Tower” building at Banjara Hills in Hyderabad in a sprawling land of 7 acres to house Command Control Centre of Police Department with modern technical expertise. The Hon’ble Chief Minister laid foundation stone for this building on 22.11.2015 and it was inaugurated by him on 04.08.2022. He planned to strengthen the Police Department in the State on the lines of the prestigious “Scotland Yard Police”.

Beside taking measures to modernize the Police Department, the Hon’ble Chief Minister also took steps for the welfare of the Police personnel. He enhanced the salaries of Constables and Home Guards considerably. Sanctioned imprest amounts for daily maintenance of the Police Stations. Each Police Station in the twin cities are sanctioned Rs.75,000/- each per month, Police Stations in the District head quarters are sanctioned Rs.50,000/- each and Police Stations in Mandal head quarters are sanctioned Rs. 25,000/- each per month. This system of providing imprest amounts to Police Stations is nowhere in any other State in India.
