Successful prosecution in sexual abuse crimes leading to convictions will reassure the society that the State Agencies are serious.Since, the Medical Examination is an important aspect in ensuring conviction to the accused in all the Medico-Legal cases. Their skill knowledge and handling of the evidence are very crucial.
Systematic and proper collection of Medical evidence to bring the guilty to book is an important link in the chain leading to better prosecution.
A two-day “workshop” for doctors was conducted at the Women’s Safety Wing so as to improve their knowledge and skills, in the collection and preservation of Forensic evidence during Medico-Legal examination of victim of Rape/child sexual abuse (CSA) crimes.
85 Medical Officers from Teaching Hospitals i.e., District Hospitals and Area Hospitals of the State of Telangana have attended this workshop at Women Safety Wing, in the association of Medical and Health Department Govt. of Telangana.
Addressing them, ADG WSW stressed upon the need for sensitivity towards victims of crime. She lauded the medical officers for their yeoman service in bringing justice to these victims through proper collection and examination of medical evidence.

GGH, Petlaburj, Dr.P.Ashok, Addl.Supdt. of Police,WSW, TS, Hyderabad, Dr.Sudha, Expert in Forensic Medicine,Dr.MamathaRaghuvir, Technica Director of Bharosa, Sri Pratap Reddy, PP Spl.Court and Sri Durgaji, PP Spl. Court who are experts in their fields have acted as resource persons during this workshop.
