KCR or Modi: who is right

CM KCR and Ministers Harish and KTR say that the centre is neglecting Telangana and not allocating funds for the development. Mood the PM in his official meeting at the Prade Grounds said that the state was not cooperating with the centre in the process of development.

Who is right is the big question. Both the state and centre are reeling the figures out from time to time and both are right in their own perspective.

Earlier KCR maintained good relations with the ruling BJP at the Centre, even as the BJP was largely politically irrelevant in Telangana.

The TRS won the elections in 2018, in polls held ahead of schedule, in which the BJP got only just one seat. Now the BJP has three seats.

The Government at the Centre, too, supported the state government and had fulsome praise for the TRS government. The TRS supported the Modi government on several issues — elections for president and vice president, demonetisation and the GST bill, among others.

There has been no relenting on the standoff for over a year, with the BJP increasingly tightening its stance on the KCR government and its leaders on several issues, including corruption. Probe against Kavitha is going on in the liquor scam.

KCR has been boycotting the Prime Minister and also the Governor sometimes for over a year — a political trend possibly unprecedented in Indian politics and one which cannot be appreciated.

Now it is clear that the BJP and BRS are fighting tooth and nail. The BJP is a mighty party with the largest membership.
The BRS has just begun and the Karnataka results will prove the popularity of KCR in the coming days.
If the BJP loses Karnataka then the BRS can go forward, otherwise, the BRS should see to consolidate in Telangana and then think about other states.
