Steven Speilberg the popular director from Hollywood told our director Rajamouli that Originality in making the movie is important. That means we should not copy or get inspired by other movies.
For example, Rjamoulis’s father Vijayendra Prasad made Rajanna with Nagarjuna which is just a direct copy of the movie Brave Heart from Hollywood.
The war scenes of Baahubali, RRR are inspired from many Chinese, Japanese and Hollywood war movies. That could be the reason Speilberg has suggested Rajamouli to be original.
Even makers like Mani Ratnam, RGV are inspired by the movie like Godfather. Many scenes are lifted from Godfather for Films like Nayakan and also Satya.
When Rajamouli sought the suggestion of getting an Oscar for his films, Speilberg said that our films should be Original. Even makers like Trivikram Srinivas and also Puri Jagannath lift scenes direct from old movies and Hollywood movies.
The lift scene of Mahesh from Pokiri was lifted by Puri from Maro Charitra of K Balachander. Teja lifted the story of the Jayam directly from Seethakoka Chiluka.
So many hit films have some inspiration of the past. That is the reason senior directors say that all the stories are the same. So let us make Original movies and get the Oscars.
