The architect of the 1993 Mumbai serial bombings that left more than 250 people dead and over 700 wounded has recovered successfully from recent surgery, top officials in India’s intelligence establishment said.
The ISI is also believed to have stepped up the security cover of the international rogue.
“He is now protected under a three-tiered layer, with his most-trusted Javed Chikna covering his innermost security and the ISI and police manning the second and third layers,” a senior intelligence official said.
Chikna is also wanted in connection with the Mumbai serial explosions that rocked the city 24 years ago.
The new and tighter measures put in place by the ISI, is an attempt to keep the don safe after his D-Company suspected a breach.
