DGP Mahender Reddy launched the CCTNS 2.0 version software at the police headquarters today. Later addressing the police officers through a video conference, he said that the new and improved version has taken a system driven approach towards investigation. Right from the time of receiving petition till finalization of a case, a systematic and standardized approach has been identified.
He stated that foremost importance is given to the investigation module comprising individual activities with minimum data entry and maximum output. Master data, screen wise templates have been prepared with an overall view of improving quality of investigation and achieving maximum conviction rate and standardization of data entry.
Strength of evidence for every activity has been evolved which would guide the investigation officer to improve quality of investigation. He noted that monitoring system is evolved from investigation officer to senior officers which would be guiding factor in achieving quality of investigation.
DGP observed that a quick and easy search feature has been provided with a click button approach to allow the users to easily navigate between different forms. He asked all the investigation officers to use this application which is effective and helps in smooth flow of investigation process efficiently and in a timely manner thereby significantly increasing the confidence of citizens in the policing activities.
DGP felt that consistency in communication to all stakeholders like citizens, complainants, inter-departmental and inter-agency correspondence and the like ensures very professional way of information dissemination. DGP congratulated the IT cell, the software developers and all the stakeholders who were involved in the process of developing CCTNS 2.0 version. Principal Secretary Home Ravi Gupta, Addl. DG Jitender, Addl. DG Vijay Kumar, Addl. DG North Zone Nagi Reddy and other senior officers were present.
