As per the directions of the Honourable Chief Minister Sri K Chandrashekar Rao the government is organising the Swathantra Bharatha Vajrotsavalu from the 8th of this month. Several activities have been taken up during the fortnight-long celebrations.
As part of the Swathantra Bharatha Vajrotsavalu programme, Chief Secretary Somesh Kumar IAS today visited Sishu Vihar in the city and distributed fruits and sweets to the children. He said that the government has taken up a special drive for the distribution of sweets and fruits in all orphanages, old age homes and other such places across the state today.
The objective of the programme is to bring smiles and happiness to those living in orphanages and old age homes. The government has organised massive programmes like freedom run, mass singing of National Anthem, Screening of “Gandhi” movie throughout the state from the 8thof this month to inculcate the spirit of freedom among the people, he said.
Chief Secretary went round the Sishu Vihar and enquired about the facilities being provided to the inmates and children.
He saw the nutri fresh garden set up in the campus. He also went round the rehabilitation centre for the differently abled children. Children in fancy dresses sang songs and performed dance numbers on the occasion.
Later Chief Secretary also met the enjoined twins Veena-Vani and enquired about their well being. Secretary Women and Child Welfare Smt Divya and other officials were present.
