Gali Janardhan Reddy was doing mining in AP and was stopped by the law enforcement agencies. But Jagan the AP CM who is on bail has allowed the Obulapuram Mining Company to continue the Mining in AP.
Many cases are pending against the company and also the owner Gali Janardhan Reddy.
While the cases against OMC are pending in the Supreme Court, YS Jagan-led AP government giving its nod for OMC’s mining activity in the state has come as a shocker.
Earlier, AP government had stopped the mining activities of OMC after it raised a border dispute issue with neighbour Karnataka state.
While AP and Centre now state that the border issue with Karnataka is settled, the Karnataka government is yet to sign the papers.
While the decision is pending, the AP government going ahead and stating that it has no objection to OMC’s mining activity within AP mines is raising concerns from opposition parties.
