Producer and director MS Raju who has released seven days and six-nights film with his son as one of the heroes was unhappy that the audience did not come to theatres as expected.

He opined that the cine-goers will not come to see small films with new heroes by paying two hundred for a ticket. He opined that it should be around a hundred rupees.

This Friday people did not bother to come to the theatres for small and medium budget films as they felt that the ticket rates were high. Raju said that the producers are nowhere in deciding the ticket rates for their movies.

The theatre owners are charging very high he said. When compared to earlier times, the audience is not coming in a big way to the theatres even on Sundays.

There is no control over the ticket rates and also snack rates. Popcorn which costs a few rupees is running into hundreds of rupees these days. So it is better for the producers to go for a course correction on the ticket rates.

It is better if they fix the rates as per the budget of the movie. If the movie is good it will run and no one can stop it. Vikram is the latest example.

Right now the wages issue is going on in the film industry and Dil Raju the big producer is looking into it.
