Hyderabad MP Asadudddin Owaisi today blamed that the demolitions being carried out in Delhi are being done on a communal basis. He said that the constructions of the Muslims were being demolished.
But the Supreme Court today has stalled the demolitions and ordered the Delhi Municipal officials to maintain the status quo. Soon after the court verdict, the demolitions have been stopped.
There is talk that the constructions have been illegal on the footpaths and that some of them attacked the Ramanavami procession. Some demolitions were carried out in the area of Jahangirpura.
There are allegations that the demolitions were being carried out as the Municipal elections are round the Corner. It must be noted that the BJP has lost some elections due to the fuel rates hikes after the UP elections.
Justice NV Ramana stayed the demolitions and ordered the status quo. The petitioners charged that the demolitions were being carried out without citing proper reasons and also giving no prior notice.
