CMD PGCIL K.Sreekant has visited Transmission Corporation of Telangana and met Senior officials of TSTRANSCO and Sri D.Prabhakar Rao CMD/TSTRANSCO & TSGENCO at Vidyut Soudha, Hyderabad and appreciated the Best Practices of TSTRANSCO and as the Best Transmission Utility in the country. CMD/PGCIL said that, the transmission availability of TSTRANSCO at 99.99% is one of the highest in the country.
CMD/PGCIL assured that, Power Grid will extend utmost cooperation and co-ordination for utilizing the common facilities of PGCIL & TSTRANSCO for further strengthening of 400KV transmission system in the state of Telangana. He has put on record about the good suggestion of TSTRANSCO to adopt transmission towers with increased heights in the forest areas to facilitate easier forest clearances. He said, the suggestion and concept proposed by TSTRANSCO is being studied by PGCIL and implementation of it would definitely reduce the gestation period of transmission projects.
In due recognition of the effective handling of ever-increasing renewable energy in integrating with the state grid in a most sustainable manner by TS SLDC, PGCIL is establishing the Renewable Energy Management Centre at Vidyut Soudha with 100% grant of Rs.17.6 Crs.
The Renewable Energy Management Centre, equipped with Artificial Intelligence based Forecasting & Scheduling Tools will be established soon for providing greater visualization and enhanced decision making in load dispatch operations, he added.
