There are reports in the media and political circles that chief minister Jaganmohan Reddy would be reshuffling his cabinet this month. Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy is all set to declare Visakhapatnam as the new capital of the state, most probably in March.
It is learnt that Jagan Mohan will introduce a bill to this effect in the state legislative assembly during the budget session, which is expected to start on February 28.
It is not exactly known whether Visakhapatnam would be declared only as an executive capital or the only capital city of Andhra Pradesh, as the sources said the bill was being drafted keeping in view only Visakhapatnam.
But going by the statements made by the chief minister in the state assembly and his cabinet colleagues in the recent past, the government would go ahead with its three capitals plan.
The central government on the other hand is treating Amaravathi as the capital city of Andhra Pradesh.
