SP patriarch Mulayam Singh Yadav’s daughter-in-law, Aparna Yadav, is all set to join the saffron party, sources said. Aparna Yadav is the wife of Mulayam Singh’s younger son, Pratik Yadav.
BJP sources said talks have been going on between the BJP and Aparna Yadav for some time now, and the two sides have come to an agreement with days to go to the Uttar Pradesh Assembly polls.
Aparna Yadav contested the 2017 Uttar Pradesh Assembly election from Lucknow Cantt seat. She lost to BJP candidate Rita Bahuguna Joshi by a margin of 33,796 votes.
It is believed that Aparna Yadav would join the saffron party on the understanding that she will be allowed to contest the upcoming polls, though sources said the BJP is keen to field her from a different constituency this time.
But all said and done when the BJP leaders were joining the SP in a big way, the BJP gave a big jolt to Akhilesh by taking Aparna into the BJP fold.
This is a big loss to the Akhilesh when the elections are round the corner.
