Ravi Shashtri the popular cricketer and Coach of the Indian Team said that he faced humiliation before getting the job as a coach.
He was a great cricketer but some people opposed him for the post of head coach for the Indian Team.
Ravi Shastri’s first stint with Team India started in 2014. He was appointed as the team’s director at that time. Under his leadership, India qualified for the semifinals of two ICC tournaments, World Cup 2015 and T20 World Cup 2016. His tenure ended in 2016.
Shastri said that BCCI didn’t give him a proper clarification for removing him from the post despite performing well as the team’s director. He said that it was hurting because of the manner in which it was done.
In 2016, Shastri applied for the head coach’s post once again but it was given to Kumble. In 2017, Shastri was called back after Kumble’s exit.
Shastri said that his return to the team was a sheer embarrassment for the people who didn’t want him on the support staff.
