EV Charging Station at ESCI, Hyderabad

The EV Charging station has been inaugurated by Chief Guest Shri. N Janaiah, VC & Managing Director, TSREDCO, Hyderabad at Engineering Staff College of India, Gachibowli, Hyderabad.

After Inauguration Shri. N. Janaiah, said that Telangana Govt., has started a drive of providing Electric Vehicle AC-Charging Stations throughout the state responding to the initiative of Bureau to Energy Efficiency, Ministry of Power, and Government of India in order to contain the carbon emission and internal oil pool account of petrol and diesel.

The State encourages EVs in mass transport and gives various SoPs like exception of Road Tax and Life Tax and Subsidies on 3-Wheeler retro-fitting schemes @Rs. 15,000/ KW under fame-II Scheme. Dr. G Rameshwar Rao, Director-ESCI said that the future of Electric Vehicles in India is to combat the pollution problems which are mostly affecting the well-being of citizens especially in metro cities.

He advised all the staff of ESCI to make use of the facility of 2 numbers of charging stations opened in ESCI Campus. Sri. U. Vidya Sagar, HoD, Power & Energy Division, ESCI, explained the 10 KW of 2 no’s AC, Electric Charges can support 6 No’s of Vehicles charging simultaneously.

EV of Tata Tigor will be charged to full levels within 1 Hr 15 Min. He thanked all the Members of ESCI and dignitaries for attending the event. Representatives of Magenta and Exicom have also attended the event.
