Governor Tamilisai and Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao welcomed CJI Ramana at the Rajbhavan along with his wife. The CJI took the salute from police and then was greeted by Governor and CM with a bouqet.
City Police Commissioner Anjani Kumar was also present. Erlier CJI Ramana was welcomed by IT Minister KTaraka Rama Rao, High Court CJ Huma. Many law makers were present during the arrival of CJI at the Shamshabad airport.
This is the first visit of CJI to the city of Hyderabad after he took over the office in Delhi. Ramana will be in Hyderabad for 3 days and he has given appointments to meet for the dignatories and VIPs apart from some people here at Rajbhavan.
Justice Ramana was a news reporter before taking up law. He was lawyer with High Court and also supreme Court before becoming a judge. He is known for his integrity.
The Central Government appointed him as CJI even after Jagan the CM of AP made a formal complaint against him. Jagan complained that Ramana was supported one caste and was involved in illegal activities.
The Government enquired into this and found that Ramana was clean and gave him the post of the CJI.
