Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao has paid rich tributes to Telangana Armed Struggle leader and a true democrat Ravi Narayan Reddy on his birth anniversary.
The CM recalled that Ravi Narayan Reddy besides building an armed movement for the liberation of Telangana also demonstrated his immense faith in the parliamentary democracy, which is laudable.
“Ravi Narayan Reddy was a great democrat who withdrew the armed struggle when the country attained independence,” the CM said. The CM said Ravi Narayan Reddy in the first general elections in the country won with the highest majority and set a record.
The CM said the Telangana Armed struggle leader had shown that if people’s movements are to be successful, the action programme should be made in tune with the existing circumstances.
The spirit of people’s movement as practised by Ravi Narayana Reddy was very much an integral part of the separate Telangana movement that we all waged, the CM said.
