After detailed discussions, a decision was taken to close the NZP, Hyderabad and KZP, Warangal for the visitors with immediate effect to safeguard the wellbeing of the animals and also the visitors from the Covid conditions.
In view of the decision taken, the Curator, NZP, Hyderabad and the District Forest Officer, Warangal (Urban) are requested to close the Zoos to the visitors with immediate effect till further orders.
They are also requested to take all precautions and measures prescribed by CZA in the reference 1″ cited:
1. Access to animal enclosures and holding areas must be limited to essential staff only and area must be cordoned off and visitor movement stopped.
2. All animal keepers to use personal protective equipment as prescribed by CZA maintain social distancing.
3. All staff working close to animals and enclosures must be tested by RT-PCR.
4. All animal enclosures to be sanitized with anti-viral sprays. All enclosures shall be ventilated.
5. All food supplied for animals must be cleaned and disinfected thoroughly. All meat shall be sterilized by dipping in hot water for 10 minutes.
6. All large carnivores must be tested for COVID – 19 and closely observed for COVID symptoms.
7. Staff showing symptoms of COVID – 19 should not attend to upkeep of animals.
8. Surveillance for symptoms of COVID- 19 shall enhanced and if signs of infection are noticed, they shall be referred to designated institutes which includes CCMB LACONES, Hyderabad.
