Will, there be a lockdown in the country is the big question these days. “The situation is different from last year when there was no COVID vaccine in the country or infrastructure to produce PPE kits and other much-needed medical goods”, the prime Minister noted earlier in his speech.
There was some fake news being circulated stating that there will be a lockdown across the country from 2nd May. He clearly stated that lockdown should be the last option and the focus should be on micro-containment.
“If we all follow COVID-19 protocols, there’ll be no need to impose lockdowns,” Modi said. The Telangana Government extended the night curfew till May 8th and did not go for any lockdown.
KCR the CM on the other hand has urged the people to reduce their movement and take the vaccination.KCR himself is in isolation and undergoing treatment for the mild symptoms of Corona.
On the other hand, India has been recording over 3 lakh COVID cases for the past few days. Yesterday, the country saw the rise of 3,79,257 new coronavirus infections pushing the total tally of COVID-19 cases to 1,83,76,524, while active cases crossed the 30-lakh mark. The death toll increased to 2,04,832 with a record 3,645 daily new fatalities.
