Justice NV Ramana has taken over as the new Chief Justice of India. The committee of Judges has just ignored the complaint given by AP CM Jaganmohan Reddy against NV Ramana in the name of caste and favouritism.
After Ramana becoming the CJ we say that Jagan who is facing several complaints is in a tight spot. He might be forced to attend the court every Friday despite being the CM.
Jagan has been avoiding the Court in the name of the Chief minister post and his work. Jagan has tried his level best to stop Ramana from becoming the Chief Justice.
CJI Bobde, who succeeded Justice Ranjan Gogoi as the country’s topmost judge in November 2019, nominated Justice Ramana as his successor last month, through a letter to the Union law ministry. The ministry requested CJI Bobde to recommend his successor in accordance with the memorandum of procedure (MoP) for the appointment of the judges in the Supreme Court.
Justice Ramana is an avid supporter of judicial reforms, particularly Alternate Dispute Redressal mechanism and promotes use of technology in the Indian Judicial System. He thrusts for the implementation of justice delivery system in regional languages and advocates for adopting suitable measures for delivering speedy justice to the masses particularly the weaker and downtrodden sections of the society. He has a keen interest in Philosophy and Literature besides Law.
