Metro Man Sreedharan, Superstars Rajinikanth, Kamal Hassan, Ajith and Vijay have voted today for the Assembly elections. Heavyweights like Chief Minister K Palaniswami, Deputy CM O Panneerselvam, DMK President M K Stalin, AMMK founder TTV Dhinakaran are in the fray.
Nearly 100 million people will vote on Tuesday to elect candidates in 475 assembly seats across four states and one Union territory, in what is the biggest election day since the 2019 Lok Sabha polls.
lections to the Tamil Nadu (TN), Kerala, and Puducherry Legislative Assemblies, the last 40 Assembly constituencies in Assam, and 31 seats in West Bengal on Tuesday hold the key to a possibly decisive change in the balance of power between the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and non-BJP Opposition parties. Kerala represents the biggest challenge for the BJP.
The results of these 5 states will decide the future course of action in the country. If the BJP does well Modi will go for the early polls.
The polling will be held in a single phase in Kerala, Tamil Nadu and Puducherry while Assam will witness its third and final round of voting on Tuesday. In Bengal, this will be the third round in the eight-phase elections ending April 29.
The elections are being conducted with Covid rules and regulations in place.
