Another high-intensity battle is on the cards in Telangana as the Election Commission of India announced a byelection to the Nagarjuna Sagar assembly constituency to be held on April 17.
The election was necessitated due to the sudden demise of sitting MLA Nomula Narsimhaiah.Nomula Bhagat, son of Nagarjunasagar MLA Nomula Narasimhaiah, has got the TRS ticket . Bhagath Kumar hails from Palem village of Nakrekal Mandal in Nalgonda district.
The CM also considered the candidature of three local candidates from the Yadava community: Peddaboyina Srinivas Yadav (Tripuraram mandal), Mannem Ranjith Yadav and Katteboyina Guravaiah Yadav (Nidamanuru mandal).
But later KCR was of the opinion that the Sympathy factor will add to Nomulas son.
A total of 2 lakh 19 thousand 745 voters are there in the constituency .There will be a straight fight between the Congress leader Jana Reddy and the TRS candidate Bhagat Kumar now. The Yadavs are the deciding factor in the constituency for winning the elections.
It is reported that Nomula has won the election with the active support of the Yadav community and Jana Reddy who was a big candidate lost to the TRS.
Thanks to the strategy of KCR. Now KCR is concentrating on the election directly and he will see that the TRS wins here. Winning the election to Nagarjuna Sagar seat is crucial for all the three major parties- TRS, BJP, and Congress.
KCR has already addressed a public meeting here in Halia while Jana Reddy has completed two rounds of Campaign here.
After suffering a shocking setback in the byelection for the Dubbaka assembly segment in November last, which the TRS was confident of winning riding on a sympathy wave following the sudden demise of its two-time MLA Solipeta Ramalinga Reddy, the ruling party is wary of the threat from an emerging BJP.
The BJP after losing two MLC seats is in a bad shape and it is not easy to fight against Jana Reddy here. However winning of two MLC has made all the difference to the TRS cadres here in Telangana.
