Telangana State Forest Department and Hyderabad Birding Pals created awareness on the tiny sparrows today at KBR National Park involving the students, nature lovers, walkers of KBR, policymakers, academicians, researchers and scientific community who can take part in this event and share their valuable insights to save the sparrows and other birds and protect their habitats.
The program started early in the morning at KBR park followed by a Welcome and brief introduction of World Sparrow Day and group photos, Proceeded to Nature trail and a bird walk by all the participants (the experts briefed about the identification of the birds, trees and the biodiversity and its interactions. Then after the nature trail, the participants and experts gathered near the gate to discuss more of the conservation issues.
The photo gallery was arranged by the Hyderabad Birding pals to tell about the importance of the birds and their role in nature. Also, there is slogan writing and elocution organized, and prizes distributed.
Interested nature lovers bought the bird feeders, nests, and other models for saving the birds during this summer season by providing water, food and nest to these tiny birds who are part of the ecosystem and help in pollination.
Govt chief whip Dasyam Vinay Bhaskar participated in this event as chief guest and told that he would take up Gift A Nest campaign, to promote human, sparrow well beingness. And also he wished that the culture of giving saplings, bird nests has to inculcate in all sections.
