No this is not their salary. It is the donation that they gave to the Congress party in the last year. According to the balance sheet submitted to the election commission, the top leaders of the Gandhi family gave Rs 5000 and Rs 54000 respectively to the party.
Kapil Sibal gave Rs 3 crore as donation. Right now the Congress party is in trouble due to paucity of funds. The BJP is having the backup of Adani and Ambanis and there is dearth for funds.
But the Congress is struggling to survive. Now there is chorus that Rahul Gandhi must come back as the party chief. This might happen before the June of this month.
Right now there are no takers for the Congress party. The winning chances are coming down for the party from time to time. They are losing the states one after other.
According to the latest surveys the BJP is ready to make a come back again. The Modi factor is in tact and there are very less chances of Congress making a come back.
The BJP is right now trying to grab west Bengal.
