Congress in-charge for Telangana Tagore who was in Hyderabad for the core committee meeting today met Vijayasahnti the film star and the Congress leader as here were rumours that she was shifting to the BJP in the near future.
There were media reports since last several days that Vijayashanti will be joining the BJP. She was with the BJP when Vidyasagar Rao was the BJP President for the Telugu states.
Later she joined TRS and won as an MP. After that she deserted KVR and joined the Congress party. Now that the Congress leaders and cadre were not giving any prominence to her, Shanti has decided to join the BJP it is reported.
But today the Congress in- charge met her and convinced her to remain back with the Congress. earlier Union Minister of State for Home Kishan Reddy met Vijayashnti and urged her to join the BJP.
Kishan Reddy visited Vijayahsanit during the Dasara days and some said that it was just for Dasra greetings and she was not joining the BJP. Recently Vijayasahnti was in news for acting with Mahesh Babu in a movie which was a super duper hit.
People thought she has made a come back into movies after 14 years. But Shanti announced that she will not continue the movies and would like to continue in politics.
The Congress is confident that Vijayashanti would remain with the Congress. The BJP is yet to talk on Vijayashanti. But the reality is that Vijayashnati is able to draw the crowds , but they are not getting converted to votes.
Her presence in the Congress party did not make any difference to the party and the BJP also will not benefit by her presence.
