Around eighty percent polling is expected for the Dubbaka bypoll here in Telangana. The people have just ignored the Covid issue and have come to the polling booths in large numbers.
The polling has crossed 70 percent at around 3 PM. This could become a record turnout for the Bypoll in Telangana. The political parties have succeeded in luring the voters for voting.
Both the TRS and the BJP are confident that they are going to win the election. The police have also maintained proper law and order in Dubbaka constituency.
The Central forces are helping them under the supervision of a central observer. Despite some disturbances here and there the polling is more or less peaceful here.
Some EVMs have failed here and there and were restored by the staff at the earliest. The district collector, State election Commissioner Goel, Commissioner of police Davis have visited some polling booths in the constituency.
Brisk polling is expected in the last one hour in some areas. Mild lathi charger was reported from some polling booths where the voters came in big groups to the polling stations. They were not following the Covid rules and regulations.
