Governor Tamilisai appreciated the gesture of blood donors on regular basis. She said that they are saving millions of lives.
She said:On the occasion of the “World Blood Donor Day,” I extend my best wishes to all the blood donors, who are unselfishly donating blood to save precious lives, in the State of Telangana and all over the World.
Blood Donors are the main saviours of millions of lives every year all over the world. Blood donation is a noble, humane, and invaluable act. The celebration of World Blood Donor Day serves as the right occasion to recognise, salute, and thank the voluntary blood donors for their generous service.
This year the theme for World Blood Donor Day is “Safe Blood Saves Lives” and the slogan is “Give blood and make the world a healthier place.” I am sure, in the true spirit of the theme and slogan, regular and safe voluntary blood donations need to be encouraged.
Donation of blood to those in critical health condition is a pious act and let us all resolve that there shall not be even a single fatality due to the non-availability of the blood in Telangana State in particular and elsewhere in the world in general.
The role of blood donors is greatly appreciated in these times of global pandemic crisis. Great noble souls are coming forward to give the blood voluntarily even during the present COVID 19 situation to save the lives of children suffering from Thalassemia and Sickle Cell diseases. I once again congratulate, thank and salute all the voluntary blood donors for their exemplary show of humanity and courage displayed and rising to the occasion by donating blood to save many lives.
